The Wax Revolution brand story began when one of our founders found himself in a far away land in Asia-Pacific with a bad back ailment. Unable to take the 22-hour flight back to Mexico, he had no other choice but to stay in the region for a few weeks seeking emergency medical treatment.
While on his way to recovery in the Far East, he observed a curious phenomenon: Lots of women without a hair on their bodies, lots of guys too. His curiosity got the better of him, so he decided to dig deeper into this apparent social movement. The replies from most women were straightforward: they were epilating for a myriad of reasons, paramount among them, the desire to be the sexiest creatures alive. Epilation was thus synonymous with sexual appeal and personal freedom.
When he approached local men on why they epilated, the response was surprising, even funny: “Because we have to. Otherwise our partners won’t have sex with us!” Our founder was surprised to find that the boyzilian had become a means to social and sexual acceptance. Hairy beasts we no longer tolerated in the in-crowd… and so our man felt the need to fit in himself. His next move was to get a boyzilian and his life has never been the same again. His newfound sense of genital freedom and sexual liberation were a life-shattering event.
He eventually came back to Mexico. Unable to get a new boyzilian, he decided to get his own, in his own terms, under his own brand…. And it was like this that the “Wax Revolution” arrived in Mexico.
